“And so we went out to see the stars again” – Inferno canto XXXIV verse 139

How many idioms taken from the Divine Comedy do we use without noticing? From “Il bel Paese” to “Stai fresco”, from “Senza infamia e senza lode” to “Lascia ogni speranza voi ch’entrate”, to “Non mi tange”, and many more…

Scala joins the celebrations in honor of the father of our language (1265-1321) inviting you to a journey through images articulated on themes; the first dedicated to the portraits and places of Dante, the others dedicated to magnificent manuscripts, and editions of the Divine Comedy. Among the most famous editions of the Divine Comedy we find the one illustrated by Sandro Botticelli and the one made by Gustave Dore, but equally interesting are the illustrations by William Blake or Robert Rauschenberg. Finally, just an example of the many characters from the Divine Comedy.
