Twice a year the cities of Paris and New York, and to a slightly lesser extent Milan, London and Berlin, come alive with Fashion Week. Fashion week is the time when the various fashion designers set up their spring or fall collections to debut under the lights and the flashes of photographers and journalists as the models wear them down the catwalks. It is always a week of great excitement, energy, and creativity.
Fashion shoots, as opposed to fashion runway shows, are staged events occurring in carefully selected and staged locations worldwide and at any time of the year. The competition among photographers to be selected for shoots by famous designers has always been fierce and the quality and ability of those selected few is unquestionable.
